Does It Pair

Privacy policy

This site collects as little as possible. This page lists every way data flows when you visit the site, email it or follow its Telegram channel.

In short

  • The site’s own code sets no cookies and uses no local storage. Cloudflare, which delivers the site, may set strictly necessary security cookies; see cookies and browser storage.
  • No ads, no tracking pixels and no advertising or third-party tracking scripts.
  • Visitor statistics are cookieless and aggregated.
  • Emails are used only to answer you and never go on a mailing list.

Who is responsible

Does It Pair (doesitpair.com) is an independent website run by one person, who is responsible for the data described on this page. Contact: hello@doesitpair.com.

What data flows exist

1. Hosting and delivery: Cloudflare

The site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks and abuse, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical details of each request, such as the page requested, your browser’s user agent and the time. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

2. Visitor statistics: Cloudflare Web Analytics

Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics. A small script from Cloudflare reports each page view. According to Cloudflare, Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint visitors. We see only aggregated counts: pages viewed, referring sites, countries and device types. We cannot see individual visitors.

3. Cookies and browser storage

The site’s own code sets no cookies and uses no local storage or similar browser storage. Times are converted to your time zone by code running in your browser; your time zone is not sent anywhere.

Cloudflare, which delivers the site, can set its own strictly necessary security cookies when its security features are active. They help Cloudflare tell people from automated traffic and are not used for advertising or statistics:

Cloudflare lists a few more cookies for features this site does not use, such as load balancing and waiting rooms. All of them are described in Cloudflare’s cookie documentation.

4. No ads or third-party tracking

The site has no ads, no tracking pixels and no advertising or third-party tracking scripts, and it loads no external fonts, embedded videos, maps or social media widgets. The only scripts on its pages that do not come from the site’s own code are added by Cloudflare as part of delivering the site, such as the statistics script described above and, when Cloudflare’s security features are active, its security checks. Other websites receive your IP address only when you follow a link to them; their own privacy policies then apply.

5. Email

Messages sent to hello@doesitpair.com pass through Cloudflare Email Routing and are delivered to a mailbox hosted by Proton AG (Proton Mail, Switzerland); see Proton’s privacy policy. Your message and address are used only to reply to you or to handle your request, are kept only as long as needed for that, and are never sold or shared with anyone else. Writing to us never adds you to a mailing list.

6. Telegram channel

The Telegram channel @doesitpair is broadcast-only. If you subscribe, Telegram’s privacy policy applies. We do not collect, export or use subscriber data. The channel never messages anyone privately and never asks for money; an account that does is not us.

Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR or UK GDPR) applies:

International transfers

Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the United States. It may process the data described above, including email passing through Cloudflare Email Routing, in the United States and other countries. For transfers of personal data from the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland to the United States, Cloudflare relies on its certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension to it and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (see the Data Privacy Framework list). For other transfers, and as a fallback if those certifications stop applying, Cloudflare uses the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, with the UK Addendum for UK data. Details are in section 7 of Cloudflare’s privacy policy and in its data processing addendum.

Email is stored by Proton AG, which is based in Switzerland. The European Commission and the UK recognise Switzerland as providing an adequate level of data protection.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you can ask for access to your personal data, its correction or deletion, restriction of its processing, or a copy in a portable format, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. To do so, email hello@doesitpair.com. In practice, the only data we hold that can be linked to you is email you have sent us.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, for example in the country where you live: authorities in the EU and EEA; in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office.

We do not sell personal data and do not use it for targeted advertising.

Children

The site is a general reference and is not directed at children. It has no accounts or forms and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

Before any new data collection starts, for example a form, ads or affiliate links, this page is updated first and the date at the top changes.
